Introduction to ERC Starting Grant project Afroeurope & Cyberspace

On December 2, 2025, Francesca was invited to present our research project in the lecture series “What can Postcolonial Studies do? at the University of Potsdam. In her talk, she introduced the ERC Starting Grant project AFROEUROPE & CYBERSPACE which explores how postcolonial dynamics shape digital practices, identities, and cultural exchange in Romance-language contexts. Within the framework of the series’ guiding question “What can Postcolonial Studies do?”, Francesca presented the project’s aims and illustrated its relevance through a case study from her own research. The session highlighted how postcolonial approaches in Romance Studies can critically engage with questions of digital culture, language, and power.
