In her presentation, entiteled “Representaciones híbridas de la negritud en Barcelona en “-¿A mí me consideras negro?-“ (2023) de Fuad Ajibola Kareem”, Ximena Cervantes Englerth analysed how, in Kareem’s work, hybridity operates in multiple complementary ways: on the one hand, as a hybrid format at the medial and spatial level, since it articulates a constant interaction between physical and digital media, between book, exhibition and sound and audiovisual archive (online); on the other hand, the hybrid logic extends to the level of what is represented in the content, namely the representation of Afro-diasporic identity, which is constructed from multiple voices with different backgrounds.
