Writing Workshop with Kiyémis: Joy, Utopia & Resistance

·1 min

Kiyémis is an author, poet, and afrofeminist. Her work explores joy as a political act and healing as a way of life. Winner of the 2024 Prix Régine Deforges, she bridges literature, Black feminism, and visual arts. In this workshop, she invites you to explore the creative power of your own voice through the pleasure of writing and reclaiming language.

The event is primarily aimed at university students and high school students from Bremen and the surrounding region, and offers a unique opportunity to experience contemporary performance art up close and to meet an author who writes and performs at the cutting edge of her field.

This workshop will be moderated by Dr. Merveilles Mouloungui. It is a collaborative event organized by the ERC project AFROEUROPECYBERSPACE, CaNoFF, junge globale°, and the Weserburg Museum of Modern Art. Supported by the Deutsch-Französisches Jugendwerk (DFJW), the VGH Foundation, and the Dean of Faculty 10.
