Afro-México & Afro-Italia: A Conversation with Valeria Angola and Kwanza dos Santos on Afrodescendant Activism and Art in Cyberspace

·1 min

On June 25, 2026, at 6:30 pm, the AFROEUROPECYBERSPACE project, in collaboration with the WOC Research Center Digital Diaspora, the Kwanzaa bookstore and the Afrika Netzwerk Bremen, organizes an event entitled “Afro-México & Afro-Italia: A Conversation with Valeria Angola and Kwanza dos Santos on Afrodescendant Activism and Art in Cyberspace”. It will take place in the Kwanzaa Bookstore (Am Dobben 65, Bremen).

This conversation brings together activist-researchers Valeria Angola (Afrochingonas) and Kwanza Musi Dos Santos to explore the intersections of Afrodescendant activism, artistic practice, and digital culture in Mexico and Italy. Through their experiences and work, they will reflect on how cyberspace has become a site for visibility, resistance, community-building, and the circulation of Afrodescendant narratives across borders. By connecting Afro-Mexican and Afro-Italian perspectives, the discussion will address how digital platforms can challenge historical erasure, amplify Black and Afrodescendant voices, and create new forms of political and cultural imagination.
