Literatura afropea en diálogo: una lectura interconectada de los cuerpos negros entre España y Alemania

·1 min

This event brings together Afroeuropean authors Lucía Mbomio and Jessica Mawuena Lawson for a conversation focused on the common threads that run through their works: the body, identity, self-care, and the paradox of belonging. Through their respective novels—Hija del Camino (Lucía Mbomio, 2019) and Kekeli (Jessica Mawuena Lawson, 2026)—, both writers immerse readers in the tensions and vicissitudes of the Afroeuropean experience in societies where the body continues to play a decisive role in shaping identity and belonging. The event will feature readings of selected passages, a guided conversation with the authors, and an open discussion between them and the audience. The event is bilingual (German and Spanish) and includes translation

The event will take place on October 12, 2026, at 7pm at the Instituto Cervantes in Bremen. It is a collaboration of the AFROEUROPECYBERSPACE project, the WOC Research Center Digital Diaspora, the RTG Contradiction Studies, the Instituto Cervantes Bremen and the Spanish Embassy in Germany. It will be moderated by Ximena Cervantes Englerth and Nelson Sindze Wembe.
