Our roundtable addressed the digital space as an archive of African and Afrodescendant knowledge. It explored how the digital serves as a space where (new) knowledge is produced, stored and disseminated and asks for the potentials and the hindrances of the digital archive in the 21st century.

Prof. Alfonso Bartolomé (Virginia State University) and Prof. Margherita Dore (Sapienza University) explore how black humour functions as a powerful tool for resistance, pedagogy, and decolonial critique in contemporary Europe.

The Forum Junge Romanistik is an annual conference that offers a unique platform for young academics to present their research findings and network. It is characterised by its thematic diversity and the promotion of young academics in Romance studies, which makes it a special event in the academic calendar. In this conference with the title ‘Symbols and discourses in the Afrofeminist digital community - a digital homeplace for anti-racist resistance’, Ximena Cervanets Englerth (U. Bremen) analysed various digital formats created and/or coordinated by members of the Afrofeminist community in Spain and Latin America (e.g. Afroféminas, Afrocolectiva, Afrochingonas, etc.).
